When Rafa leaves it will go tits up in no time.
It is imperetive that we hold onto him.
Even fat Mike must realise the fact.
Keeping Rafa is definitely key...but I just can't see it. Fatso isn't going to change.
Aside from that, as for the squad, we need another really decent striker and I'd look to replace Yedlin before Dummett, tbh.
And, it may not be popular, but I'd bin Ritchie and try to buy a replacement...plus, we need to replace Kenedy and someone needs to superglue Atsu to the front of a bin lorry like those teddies you see on them.

Rondon will need to be replaced
Almirons pace and skill has allowed Perez more space to do damage,Lejuene coming back from injury has allowed Schar to get forward,it's a shame about Longstaff as he had improved our midfield.
Listening to radio newcastle last night, they seem to be of the opinion that rafa is waiting for any concession from fatso that will allow him to say ok im staying. he doesn't want to leave and will accept anything that he can hold up and say - thats a step forwards - lets get on with it and see what happens.
Realistically we need to sign Rondon or someone as good or better. I've been very pleasantly surprised by him if I'm honest. I didn't understand Rafa's insistence that he was the one he wanted, but he really does well in our setup.
We then need another forward that can run the line in Rondons place or complement him alongside Perez/Miggy. Joselu and Muto are not even worth a place on the bench.
A new cm is needed to play with, fight for a place with Longstaff and Shelvey.
Then of course we need upgrades/ competition for both fullback slots.
If we were to do this in the summer it would be a very successful transfer window. If Rafa were also to stay then we would be looking up the table rather than counting the points to safety.
We need what all teams need DEPTH and not just extra numbers we need game changes on the bench.
