    But where do you draw the line?

    For example there were probably more Muslims killed in the Ethiopian Airlines Max 8 crash than killed in New Zealand.

    A minutes silence for those deaths?

    Or is a crazed gunman killing spree special?

    There's so many disasters globally that you could have a minutes silence every game.

    Which is feasible but it would lose impact.

    Blimey, I'm almost in agreement with you there.

    New Zealand is a rugby nation and so it is clear why the atrocities would have been marked within both forms of that sport in this country.

    There's an argument that the very close links between the UK and NZ might have caused there to be some acknowledgement within the football world, but it's a matter of judgement and I would be slow to say that the FA called it incorrectly.
