Is it the same article as the Record and Sunday Mail are sister papers? Was surprised to see Thomson describe himself as a lazy player, always looked a worker to me. I also see Dick Shaw's name cropped up in the article, and I wondered if a) is he still around? and b) if so is he still involved in football in any capacity?
Andy Thomson was probably the best example of the saying "you should never go back" as he was disappointing in his second spell with the club.

I see Dick Shaw fairly regularly out and about but couldn't tell you if he is still involved in football. As for "you should never go back" Sir Stephen is living proof that dismisses that saying!

Last saw Dick at Allan Ball's funeral and spoke to him about his grandson Oli Shaw a member of the first team squad at Hibernian. Not sure if he is still at Annan Athletic FC but he was there for many years.

I often see Dick Shaw in the directors box at Palmerston on match days.

Dick Shaws son ( Oli's dad) was a year above me at Dumfries High School . He was an elegant footballer who played for teams like Ayr United and Falkirk.
