My recollection was we had the left hand end, segregation was huge in the middle, then the sheep had the end nearest where the away end is now.... as more and more dees piled in they allowed the segregation to get smaller and smaller then the polis just gave up and the sheep evacuated pretty rapid.

That was really the last decade where huge away supports travelled for cup games.

The other ridiculous large away support was parkhead replay around the same time.

Thats exactly how i recall it ,Aberdeen fans herded out and into the South stand...pockets of their casuals remained right at the bottom corner nearest the South stand and it kicked off when they scored.

there was also some olympic boxing sessions going on in the old boozer opposite the beach end pre match,cani mind its name wouldna be surprised if it was the pittodrie bar
