Do you think there’s more to come out about Moore’s sacking ?

It seems strange that he was sacked with no one lined up to come in

Do you think there is more about his sacking that we don’t know about yet

Do you think the story of jones leaving to become Luton manager at the end of the season was the catalyst for the sacking ?

Moore knew Jones was leaving. Results had turned bad and comments by Brunt since the sacking reveal the players weren't convinced that Jones' playing style and tactics were working. (That much was obvious to everyone) Moore had the option of replacing Jones but didn't exercise that option.

There could only be one outcome.

    You’re spot on here.

One of my best mates is friends with someone at the club who holds an important position within the player back up structure.

He was told exactly this same reason last week.

Jones kept the Luton interview and job secret but it came out.

Jenkins and Downing questioned Jones and at first he denied it all.

The club went to Moore and told him about Jones’s snide tactics and told Moore they felt he needed to let Jones go and then find a replacement but Moore wouldn’t do it.

There was also the feeling that Moore wasn’t assertive enough over Jones and that the tail was wagging the dog.

In essence Moore was too nice a guy and was being railroaded by his disloyal number two.

    Outcome inevitable once form dipped.

Got a text today saying it was on Sky News that the old black thing is raising it's ugly head once more, how boring can they get and know nothing of the high esteem the Albion have for Darren Moore.

Disgusting that the racist card is being played or talked about. Facts are clear - selections/formations and style of football was down to one man - or it should have been!

Apparently all they were quoting was the league position and a selected number of results, not one comment on the actual managing of the side.

I nearly posted about this today. It’s on the Sky News website under ‘Sky Views’. It’s written by a sports correspondent called Martha Kilner. She states that DM’s sacking should start a debate about racism in football. Ian Wright, Paul Ince and Adrian Durham are all quoted as you might expect. It’s very selective writing IMO as it states we were 4th etc but no mention of 2 wins at home since November 10 which in itself is a good enough reason although the above explanation seems very plausible given there is no replacement in the frame. As a club we may have had failings over the year but racism isn’t one of them so this woman appears very ignorant of the facts

She looks around 30 years old and thus is showing herself to be ignorant of our history.

Nobody under 50 can really know what it was like to be involved with Albion in the 70’s with our great black players.

When I started watching football in 71-72 there were only two top level black players I can recall.....Clyde Best at West Ham and Mick Bates the perennial Leeds substitute.

Looking at her resume she is a bandwagon jumper who loves a “cause” to flog.

This type of verbal cr*p from the likes of Durham and ince can only damage potential black managers on the basis that what club would want to hire a black manager, knowing that when their time is up then racism is inevitably gonna be levelled at them and nobody in todays woke age wants to be accused of that.

    NO
He had lost his way. Many fans were restless. The board could see he wasn't up to the job. No conspiracy.
