    Kintore

Any of you teuchters help me out here? Been offered a few years work in Kintore and just wondering what the place is like? Does it have electricity, running water, 6 months of darkness etc

Is there much to do ther than cow tipping?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Where you at? Osprey?

Kintore isn't too big a place but the only pub is a decent one. Modern refurbishment with a beer garden of sorts and a real nice pint. Jasmin chinese is the best in the area. They've got a shop that sells stuff which is nice.

A pub and a level crossing is your lot in Kintore min

Nae far from Inverurie so maybe living there would be the better shout(5 mins) or even Oldmeldrum if you want quiet but with more in it which is about 15 mins away and Mondo has left now so it is better

Itís a quiet place. As is Blackburn just before it.
Inverurie is much busier and as others have said about 5 mins away.

And you will be pretty close to Pittodrie MkII should you stay long enough.

It's a hotbed of artistic and musical creativity in Scotland presently. Mark my words, Kintore will be the new Inverurie in a few years time...

Who, that was there, will ever forget the Potterton Beat scene and the Potterton Youth Club, now with a constant stream of Cavern-esque tourists, that hosted all those fine bands from Milton of Potterton, Belhelvie and beyond?

    When I was a loon..........
We used to cycle from Dyce to Kintore, country roads all the way

A little later there was some sort of circut of dances, Kintore was always my favourite. ( Arlene I still love you)

Youth club sort of stuff, a crappy village hall with an even crappier disco but hey, we were young.

In later years I used to go fly fishing on the Don there.
A lack of trees on the riverbank meant I spent more time fishing and less time climbing trees.

This was when it was a village, I presume the curse of new hooses has linked Inverurie with Aberdeen via Kintore.

Wouldnt really call it a ground though. You could let your dog take a sh@te on the centre spot. Doesnt qualify for me

Played them last year in a cup up there, tbh, the local was fine......the pitch had seen better days, anyway, same for both sides......had a couple of refreshments with a couple of their decent lads post match in the wee bar they have at the changing rooms......as for this Masonic loon, best wishes to him, be more than welcome to come down to the Marine and share a beer with myself and our current coach now that the AWPR is up to speed.
