O/T It's not just Rotherham town centre.

As most know, it's a similar story elsewhere, Northampton for example as outlined in this BBC news article.

I blame me actually, having spent my first 19 years in Rotherham and the next 19 in Northampton there seems to be a pattern. Seattle is next, in fact it's already dying as this piece is titled. Take a look if you have 60 minutes to spare, shows what the impact of homelessness, drugs, soft policing etc. can have on even the most affluent cities (just watch the first 10 minutes to see what I mean).

All this is symptomatic of the inevitable decline of the West. No discipline, no punishment, too much welfare, a health system that undermines any sense of personal responsibility, floods of migrants from cultures inimical to ours, a concentration on rights over responsibility, a whole panoply of people I know who work helping the losers rather than engaing productively. The absurdity of our system was summed up for me when last week the BBC sent a reporter to some God-forsaken dump in South Wales where he seriously solicited the views on Brexit of some woman with several kids who lived on benefits. Madness and things will only get worse. The Ukranians have the right idea.

    Flippin eck Cam!
Top of my summer hols wishlist was a Seattle/Vancouver trip.
My enthusiasm was dented somewhat by the astronomical hotel costs in both cities (at least for those deemed fit for habitation by Mrs Wrinkly)
Your youtube link has just about put the final nail in that holiday plan's coffin.
Seattle was always near the top of the list of best places to live in the US.
It seemed OK on my one day visit in 1988 - albeit that my visit was merely a pitstop on the way to California from Vancouver and consisted entirely of a Kingdome stadium tour

They're cosying up to the EU, they want to be more "Western", the same things will happen to them.

I blame the socialist teachers and even more the Marxist university professors and lecturers, universities are like socialist factories now and they have produced our current leaders, where even so-called conservatives are actually "progressives" and want to conserve nothing.

There’s a lot of crap town centres, but high in the league table of crapness are those towns with high immigrant numbers

It really is a beautiful area Wrinkly but I work in the city and the images you see in that clip are what I see every day. Don't know if you watched as far as where they spoke to the tourists but they were gobsmacked that nothing was being done about it. If you want to visit then Bellevue, a city the same size as Seattle and just 3 miles across Lake Washington, a 15 minute car/bus ride away, is a much nicer place to stay and has none of the issues (but it's also expensive). If you're on a budget, as you see they don't object to you pitching your tent just about anywhere in Seattle, sidewalks, grass verges, shop doorways, freeway underpasses. I'm about 20 miles out of Seattle but have land and trees so I'm sure you could get Mrs Wrinkly to knock you up a log cabin if you want. I can supply the chainsaw

PS Fly to Vancouver and do the Amtrak Cascades down through Seattle and on to Portland or like Brin did, take a cruise to Alaska from Vancouver or Seattle.

I am and God damn it I spend every hour of every day slavishly indoctrinating our students on the imperative necessity of a socialist new world order. We all do. All colleges do. And we so nearly got away with it. But we couldn't do you, you pesky meddling do gooder.

    Damn your eyes.
