    Really poor

That was a miserable performance. Rangers made us look like amateurs. Our ball control was abysmal. Particularly disappointing as we have been so much better since Christmas. Only player to get pass marks was Tait (in my view). Cherry on top of a ****ty cake was the chucking of a lighter at Tavernier by a silly wee boy. Eejit.

You could pretty much copy and paste the post match thoughts after just about every game against this mob over the last 17 years. We always manage to make them look good by gifting them goals out of nothing and it ends in a very frustrating afternoon. So predictable. If they aren't beating us on their own steam or getting every bounce/break of the ball going for them then wel chuck one in for them.

Different day, same sh1te as usual.

What makes them do it? You might have thought that, with the stuff at Tynie yesterday, it might have been a sensible day on which to keep all our noses clean. But, alas, no. Chucking a lighter at someone can have no possible influence on the course of the match and can only damage the club - probably on several fronts. Dear oh dear!
It makes you tear your hair out!

Every club has their share of idiots unfortunately, we are no different. People who can't control their emotions and/or drink too much alcohol and as a result act like morons. And, incidentally, they are not all 'silly wee boys' either.

To be fair, those around me in the East Stand roundly condemned it at the time.

Sadly, you are probably correct LST, at least in terms of age. They are almost certainly well past their boyhood in years but not in the way they behave. They are immature and lacking in any sense of responsibility, hence my description of them. Good to hear they were roundly condemned.

It appears idiocy is contagious. Hopefully whoever did it is caught and severely punished.

Remarkably - unlike our behaviour in 2015 - the fact everyone is now at it presumably means we're less likely to be punished.

A very poor showing today and we should be thankful that the score was only 3-0 as it could have been far worse. Apart from the youngsters, our experienced pros let us down today.

When faced with opposition other than other teams in the bottom 6, the youngsters haven't really proven an ability to have the same impact on a game as they have when playing against teams with poor form. No doubt they are to be recognized for turning the season around but no need for some of the over the top accolades that have been showered upon them... this is what has gotten Hastie to be looking at options elsewhere at the first opportunity before he has even put in a decent number of games for the club that has gotten him to this point in the beginning of his potential career.
So he has been tested against some other top 6 -- and his record there is not anything to get excited about... because he is just a kid ... he won't be playing (much) first team football if he goes anywhere better than Motherwell at this stage.

    Definitely.

We're basically the definition of a midtable side - good enough to be confident against those below us but not good enough to be further up.

Last results against the top six include 4-1 at Celtic (though we were in it till 85 mins, not a disgrace), a really poor 2-0 at Hibs (never in it), 3-1 at Aberdeen (unlucky with the first two goals but deserved defeat), 0-0 at Killie (fair point), 2-1 v Hearts (a gift of two points) and now 0-3 v Rangers. Four points from that lot isn't a terrible tally by any means and - Rangers apart - we didn't embarrass ourselves. But we only really played well once, against an the worst of the bunch in an injury-hit Hearts side, and even then we only won because their goalie chucked one into the net.

A reminder that while we've come far, and deserve credit for it, there is a huge amount still to be done.

There is certainly a huge amount still to be done as you say Handsome_Devil and for that reason in the next five games I would only play the guys who will still be at the club next season. That way we will have an idea where we stand with regard to who we need to bring in before the season starts instead of waiting till the last day of the transfer window to sign players just for the sake of it . Even if it means leaving players like Hastie, Main and Turnbull and possibly Cadden so be it. Better to find out know what we can do without them than to wait until we season has started
