Declan Gallagher signs for the 'Well

Motherwell have signed Livingston's centre back Declan Gallagher on a pre-contract. The big defender has a few months left at Almondvale before he moves to Fir Park as part of Stephen Robinson's plan for next season. - External Link

Good luck to the Lad. Hope He does the business for us. Wonder what Center half will be away at the end of the season then?

Rumour mill already hinting that Peter Hartley may be heading to Hibs

A very good signing by all accounts and he'll be a real asset for us. Where does this leave Peter Hartley though? Question marks too over Tom Aldred's future. Still we'll have Barry Maguire and Charles Dunne.

I'd be amazed if Hartley is not with us next season because he's clearly done at this level and no one else will take on his contract.

We'll obviously be trying to retain Aldred but usual questions remain there.

Good luck to Declan Gallagher and welcome to Fir Park. Hopefully some good times ahead for the player and the club.

I'd imagine Aldred is one we'd be trying to keep but I can't see it somehow and Hartley is, as HD says, past it at this level and should be moved on if at all possible.

As long as he doesn't use a baseball bat on the pitch and he does a job for us as a defender then he'll get my support.
