    Burnley Beat The Bookies

At the turn of the year the bookmakers had Sean Dyche's Clarets odds on to be relegated. Sean however, had other ideas and has now ensured Burnley will extend their stay in the Premier League. - External Link

"The doubts, anxieties and frustrations that have haunted Clarets’ fans throughout the current season have now all but dissipated."

"Joy and relief coursed around Turf Moor in equal measure and barring a statistical shift of seismic and utterly improbable proportions, Burnley will be playing their football in the English Premier League once again next season...."

    Cheers Dave.

a Victory it was....and pleased we all are....but unfortunately, am not going to crack open the Champagne, as I doubt there's much sparkle in it....as was seen yesterday - it could so easily have fallen flat for us - and that, against a team who's well-nigh for the drop, thats the bitter sweet reality of it (imo).....so if as it seems, we have managed to remain a Premier League Club - then perhaps this time - we'll act like one.

To give the board their due, they have inadvertently blown one PL cliché right out of the water, the one about the PL being all about money, you need a lot of it, and you need to spend a lot of it to survive. Well we're going to be in the PL for 4 consecutive seasons after spending next to nowt. So obviously you don't need to spend mountains of cash, what you do need, as we have proved, is simply an outstanding manager.

Amazing "really". I believe Burnley's net spend was more than 9 of the other PL teams in the summer window - but the little we've seen of the incoming, may as well have not spent nothing....does that count as a waste ?....and dont know exactly how the others teams fared with their signings - other than what i've seen, which on many an occasion has been performances of abysmal proportion....so I guess we've been in comparable company - and many of which, somehow, have managed to drop even deeper into the atrocious when playing us....so all in all (imo) other than those at the top end....the rest are a buch of poxy pretenders that are laughing all the way to the bank...level of quality is dreadful - so no wonder S.D/Burnley only need live off the "basics".

Tomorrow Sinkov - High Spy, Maiden Moor and Catbells.

I was expecting that our fans would be more upbeat by now...but this negativity is obviously terminal.
