Yes its just a pity that 3 of our best men yesterday are loan players or already signed for another club (Todd) and adding Dykes into the mix it will be a major rebuild for next season whatever league we end up in. The Retro Day went well and there were some cracking old
bits of Queens kit on display including a 52 - year scarf a fan showed me.

The day was a great success on and off the park. Three crucial points and lots of old tops out on display. Thought this was a great idea by the SLO, fostering a real togetherness amongst Queens fans . Qos are the glue that holds us all together and important that we all feel part of it , part of our club and proud of our town. The retro day has to be an annual feature now surely ?

Still two massive tests for the team now. Ross Co still technically need another point so will be keen to put us to the sword especially with a TV audience. Let's hope injuries to Mercer and McGuire dont put them out of these games. As for the Thistle , they are trying to turn this into a home game for them. Fleets of free buses are carrying hundreds of 'Harry Wraggs' to Palmerston and we will require a good home backing to counteract this

No mate the badge on the scarf from a few yards away looked like a Rangers one with a red symbol surrounded by blue and white writing and the elderly fan took umbrage when a fellow fan suggested that - however it was defo a Queens one and hopefully Colin Johnstone the photographer who took many. many photos just outside the main stand will have it on camera.

We the fans, who are effectively the life-blood of Queen of the South, had courteously asked many, many times for an attacking formation including young Connor Murray and overlapping full-backs to add ammunition for our front players and at last we were granted that simple request.

On top of that, Queen of the South to a man gave 100%, - tracking back whenever they lost a ball and never giving Dunfermline any space...once more something we have asked for, - because it damn well works! (How else were Livingston promoted last year?)
Furthermore, - our two best previous performances of the season against Ross County and Ayr Utd were down to playing with that level of intensity.

5-0 would not have been an unfair score-line on Saturday, and all we can ask is that same style of performance is produced against County and Thistle.

There were several contenders for the man of the match on Saturday with Wilson edging it, - but Michael Doyle was utterly immense, while Jordan Marshall's energy was amazing, - get those two signed up please! Young Connor put in a great shift, while Stirling covered every blade of grass, and still managed to argue with the ref, Doyle and Jacobs!

Without gong through the entire squad, I think it would be fair to say that Saturday's game might have been the best of the season in terms of the whole team working and pulling together. There were no shirkers and for me I would like to thank the team and management for at last giving the fans something to enthuse over...…..well done guys!

Just saw the photo of the fan with the scarf on the Official Site collection taken by Colin Johnstone and Flash AKA Dougie Doonhamer the club mascot who won the first prize.
