    Second half made for Shackleton

Woeful performance allround, but against ten men, tiring in later stages - Shackleton with his pace / drive & directness, surely the game was ideal for him, with both Bamford & Roofe up front. but no, Harrison stays on, and we get Forshaw.
Clarke does appear, but late on, and still looks a little of the pace.
Attacking options from bench limited at best.

Don't know what Shackleton has to do to get a game, how Harrison gets ahead of him is beyond comprehension.

Also so don’t understand why he doesn’t get at least 30 mins - would also try Edmundson too - he plays more aggressively.

Absolutely agree. Shackleton must be wondering what he has to do to get a chance. Clarke looked way off the pace and nothing like he was before he became 'a bit poorly.'

Conspiracy theorists on the rise here, but why are so few Academy "graduates" getting real game time, when the likes of Harrison, Forshaw, Bamford I.e. transfers/loanees get to start or at least get substantial game time?

My only surprise was that Klich stayed on, I like him but he was abysmal against Wigan basically gave the ball away every chance he had in the first half and Berardi was useless constantly caught out of position.

If it had been me I'd have subbed Berardi and Klich for Roofe and Forshaw, moved Phillips to CB and played Roofe outwide with Pablo in the middle. But hindsight is a wonderful thing, reality is if Roberts volley hadn't been blocked on line and we'd gone 2-0 up it would have been 3 points and if they'd not got the goal just before HT we'd have won.

Its a mental season, I just hope this isn't all ruined by missing out on promotion at the final hurdle.
