    Mid-field defending.

Why do our mid-field not tackle? The number of times that we let the opposition run at us and back off and don't make the tackle is unbelievable. If you get in the way you might give away a free kick but at least it gives you time to regroup at the back. What we do is invite them to shoot and we saw the result today. We really do need a Jacob in our mid-field.

i have said it before and I said it after 20 minutes today, Harper does nothing when we do not have the ball. He does not tackle or close players down. He drifts around and starts to run to an opposition player once that player already has the ball. Shan's error today was not taking him off at half time when we somehow had gone in leading 1-0. He waited until we were 2-1 down. Within a couple of minutes of Phillips on the pitch we got the equaliser. Then Matty was racing around closing players down where he could, then running at players when we had the ball. We have no-one who goes in with crunching tackles. We try and nip the ball off their toes and half the time the opposition come away with the ball. There is no grit and drive in midfield and it will probably be our undoing in the long run.
