    Ipswich v Swans

Easter Monday and we’re on the road again. This time it’s bottom club Ipswich and a long journey for the JA faithful.
Let’s hope the players turn up this time for what should be on paper a comfortable away win, except we don’t do away wins since Boxing Day last year!
Our embarrassing defeat at QPR is still fresh in the mind and Ipswich will be no pushovers.

Ipswich were coming into this game on the back off a 4-0 defeat at Preston and unfortunately were already relegated, which is a horrible experience as all Swans fans know first hand. I’m sure such a famous club will bounce back again next season, good luck to them.
Meanwhile we have seen a dramatic run of defeats, eight on the bounce away from home, that has scuppered our play off hopes barring a miracle.
It took us until the 57th min to break down Ipswich, James hitting the post and veteran Routledge firing home the rebound. Final score 1-0.
Three matches left, Hull and Derby at home, and Blackburn away.

Make that 7 consecutive away defeats in the message above.

Well it was a long time coming but we’ve got an away win at last, at the eighth attempt. It could have been more than the one goal win, yet our old failings are still there at set pieces and it could so easily have led to Ipswich equalising.
Still the records show an away win, and up to 10th position in the table on 62 points, 5 points behind Derby in the play offs, with three games to go, two of those at home.
One wonders what might have been with all those points thrown away on our travels since the turn of the year.
Well done to the 570 odd away supporters who made the long journey.
