Thread: Huge Game Tonight

it might not take more money to correct the situation ,could be corrected by a new manager appointment who has a good eye for bringing in players to fit our budgets ,theres defo players out there who dont command big wages that a decent manager could see that would improve us and also tactics have played a massive part in our bad season .

Francis with all due respect for your obvious enthusiasm, there is one slight problem that you have so clearly overlooked, and that is that there are no less than 5 other teams who are exactly in the same quandary as Queens!

Therefore, - using your unique brand of logic there are 6 sets of Boards of Directors who need to take a long look at themselves and spend more money than they have already!

An alternative view, and perhaps much more sensible one would be to accept that this has been the most competitive league in modern times and that we are all in the same boat.

I do not think that spending money would have got Queens out of the debacle they find themselves in. If that were the case, - then Falkirk would be in the top four, - not sitting at the bottom.

Now tactics..........that is an entirely different matter, and I would 100% agree with you on that point, - but let's leave it at that for the moment!

lol hawd on a min jardi where did i mention about spending more money than the board have got ??? both you and scooby only seem to see its about money im talking ,well no its not all about having more cash ,when i made the point of our board need to look at how this season went and make sure thay dont make the same mistakes next term as thay did this season ,now that all ranges from the backing of our manager even tho his tactics were killing us ,and yes our budget wasnt competitive ,our budget might have done the job if we had a manager who had a better tactical knowledge and had a better eye for talent ,where im getting peeed of about is people like scooby and aloreburn jumping into threads commenting just to cause disruption and argumentative comments ,whats the point ?how many threads do those two kill off when in full convo .?

Frances you said: "lol hawd on a min jardi where did i mention about spending more money than the board have got ???"

    - I did not say that, I said: "Therefore, - using your unique brand of logic there are 6 sets of Boards of Directors who need to take a long look at themselves and spend more money than they have already!"- meaning that they had not spent enough on their squad, - that is completely different to spending more than they have got, - which in any set of circumstances would be financial suicide.

The essence of my argument is that it isn't the amount of money that you spend on your squad, it's how they are utilised to best effect.

Leaving Alloa out of the equation, there are three teams who have spent vastly more on their squads than Queens, namely: Falkirk, Partick and Dunfermline, and where has that got them?

Morton too have spent a great deal more than Queens, - yet they are still struggling too.

So, despite this clamour by some fans that the BOD need to release the purse strings to make the club successful, - the facts disprove that, because there are 6 clubs in the Scottish Championship, - who at this moment in time are not out of the danger zone.

It may be the case that a refresh on the board might be a good thing. Not a complete overhaul as I truly believe the people on there have our best interests at heart. Maybe one or two new faces in to light up the fire inside of the existing board members who have probably been looking at more how to keep us alive as a club opposed to looking ahead at the same time and using what small finances we have to make relative gains.

We are in a relegation position thanks to poor tactics on the pitch not the lack of funds.
We've plummeted like a rock since the turn of the new year.

The board gave Naysmith money in the January transfer window.
