    Possession, Spurs - Brighton

Possession 81% - 19% in the second half.

I love Hughton, but I doubt he will get any criticism for having played defensively in this game, going for the one point. Whereas had it been Rafa, Jamie Redknapp would have called it embarrassing...

Funnily enough, on 5Live, Chris Sutton and Ian Wright were sort of saying that he was too defensive and that his style wasn't really very entertaining. But they were doing it in a very low-key, almost apologetic way so it didn't appear they were having a direct go at Hughton.

Brighton deserve a heap of praise for their rearguard performance in their current plight.Until you are in that predicament or dont have the resources to go gung ho then playing to strengths in certain circumstances is an art in itself.
Of course the pundits want to see an open game for viewer figures etc. but by & large they seem to differentiate us from the rest when a defensive ploy is undertaken.Double standards.

It's strange that the so-called experts don't even realise that with such limited means, compared to the rich clubs, it is perfectly acceptable and sane to try focus on defending and attacking on the counter. In no way did Brighton park the bus from what I saw.
