Hypothetically had he played our best team yesterday and Gibbs/Gayle/Phillips got injured and were out for the play offs. What would you have thought then?

Or hypothetically, Gibbs gets injured in minute 1 of the 1st game of the play offs. Would it be ideal that Townsend would come in and replace him with no match sharpness because he hasn't played for the previous 7/8 weeks - because we were playing our best team in the run up to the play offs - so we could try and finish 3rd?

On what evidence do you base your opinion that we have no chance against the Villa over two legs? When we have already beat them over two legs this season with DM who you didn't rate at all.

Which still doesn't change the fact we will be in the play offs.

What we need are our best players on the pitch in the play offs - he was right not to risk them. And our subs in a good place if they need to be called on.
