    Swans v Derby

It’s that time again, the end of another season, last home game. Nothing to play for, in contrast to last season, where we were fighting for our survival in the PL. We only had to beat Southampton at the Liberty to stay up and we blew it.
If only we’d strengthened in January instead of weakening the squad by dumping three players, then we could have been in the play-offs.
Derby desperately need to beat us tonight to hold on to 6th spot and will come out all guns blazing. Harry Wilson, Welsh International and on loan from Liverpool, is the danger man, scoring a brace in the reverse fixture as we went down 2-1 last December.
Revenge time for us this evening then, I hope the players are up for it, pride is at stake!

Last home game and we were already on the beach first half, second best to everything. Conceded from a corner again and lucky it wasn’t more by half time.
Mackay, who’d done nothing again subbed at half time by Fulton, John replaced Naughton, who had passed back each time he had the ball for 45 mins.
We bossed the second half and we’re stronger in midfield. John was surging forward at every chance and Fulton was getting stuck in.
Routledge scored from the rebound as McBurnie’s header was tipped onto the post to equalise. We just couldn’t get the winner though and in the end Derby were thankful for the point.

We were so disappointing first half after the great run of results at home. We let Derby have the ball and seemed reluctant to make a game of it. MacKay was poor and Byers was having an off game so midfield wasn’t working.
Thankfully Potter changed it at half time and we should have gone on to win it.
Our old set piece woes continue and needs sorting in the summer to make a stronger challenge next season with this young group.
