    Sky got their wish....

Vic Wakeling.."shut Scottish football down ,it doesn't exist"...4 English teams in both Euro finals is an incredible achievement, yes the money down there is daft but even though.

Remember when Scots were the backbone of Man Utd/Liverpool/LeedsUtd.....

Kinda right in a way when the media up here, the powers that be and two certain club's don't think it exists either.

It's all about the ugly sisters.

Hope that's not offended Nelms or their Irish heritage.

Scottish football has been dying for years, and part of it is the setup where if you're based in Glasgow it looks like it's a big deal to the rest of the world. Nobody cares, really nobody.

Football could very well turn out to to be a game that used to be popular in Scotland but was killed by the greed of the Old Firm, the failure to recognise how the product could be better and the reality of the fact that we are just not very good any more. The Old Firm are not needed by England, they will never play there. Ever. They are not a draw.

I'd love to see Dundee just say out loud that for the next 6/8 years we will focus on trying to being a group of youngsters through, but it will never happen. For clubs the size of ours the future will be about pairing with a big money European club and perhaps becoming a kind of farm for kids, problem is we see ourselves as a major football nation and pretend that one day it will all just fall into place again. It will not. Our national league isn't even competitive enough to attract a big club to invest in our system and players. There's almost no benefit to them to do so.

    It's ****ing depressing.

Great post hmac. Hope JN reads it and starts to review what FPS really needs to do. It seems to me that this "build it and they will come" mentality might be leading them astray. If they could find a way to build the support going to Dens they might actually turn round their finances. More chance of building our support with a winning team in the Championship and if there were locally produced players rather than mediocre mercenaries in the team the whole club could really take off.

I wonder if we could find an alternative successful business plan, that did not have as its aim, playing in the SPFL?
