    You’re right the pitch across the road from the Claregate, it was Mermaids home pitch too... ah well we haven’t kicked each other up in the air then!

    Ah well, never mind, next time round eh!

    Just looked on google earth and the Claregate field is still there but is now a play area and general rec ground by the looks of it, nice looking cricket field still there though.. The old public works ground has been built on, industrial units by the looks of it. Fowlers park is still there behind it in all it's glory but no bugger to play on it anymore of course unless the Sunday League use it.
