    Captain Cody

Connor is the only player in the Premier League to have played in every minute of every game this season. He has proved to be a fantastic captain on and off the field and he must be so close to an England call up..

From an average player, Nuno and his coaching staff have turned Cody into one of the top sweeper/ centre backs in the country. He is constantly talking on the pitch, directing players into position and cutting out danger. He has not been fazed by any of the leagues top strikers this season. He is still only 26 years old so he can only get better.

He has been an absolute revelation in his new role and deserves recognition. As for an England call up, I think the problem would be that Southgate likes to play four at the back, would that suit Coady?

My son informs me that he has played in every minute of all our other games as well, so that is some respect to his fitness and stamina.

Connor has been overlooked again by Southgate. What has he got to do to win a call up? As Norton says, it is probably because England play with a back four. From a selfish point of view, it will help Wolves because the lad is due a rest.
