On the 14th of May 1983, just 6 minutes into the half, the ball sailed over Kelly's head and it was happy birthday Ralph.

Without a doubt the greatest United team I have ever had the privilege to watch. Hopefully today's United can get a similar result at ICT tonight.

I was 14 at the time and watched from the stand enclosure. Only now, so many years later do I fully realise how special that team and that achievement was.

Just imagine we didn't win, it would be their most momentous moment that they'd still be rubbing our faces in to this day

However that was a quality side and had bottle in the run in, any slip up and the league was gone

We went over the road, with Premier division title at stake, only a win would do, and we beat then on their own ground to become champions

It was mayhem in the TCKeay.
IIRC Eamonn hit the pen with one foot and scored the rebound with the other foot.
And Ralph. What more can you say.
    Unbelievable, the stuff of dreams.

I was there that day but if I’m being honest, I would 100% swap that achievement and trophy for the chance to relegate the Funsters at Tannadice. Just think of the scenes and we’d still be talking about it today, over and over and over and...........
