    Nah, we beat 'Em to it on that front, millertop, with our Roman fort at Templeborough. They get a mention in the Doomsday Book and we don't get a name until a couple of centuries later, but we had our crafty bid in with that very early building!��

    Have you been to Clifton museum? It has a display showing where the meaning of the village names of Rotherham come from Roman, and Anglo-Saxon, both before 1066.
