Middlesbrough have parted with boss Tony Pulis, after this season's failure to win promotion to the Premier League.
The club announced that the 61-year-old's contract, which was reported to end this summer, would not be extended.

The Boro' players hardly looked bothered in the first half of their recent game against us at the NYS... and we still managed to lose!
Only 4 teams in the Championship scored fewer goals than Middlesborough. Even the Millers scored more. It must have been like watching paint dry!
He’s ok for keeping you up not taking you up.
Of course not Millertop, but it is a fact that Borough fans have been complaining about the style of football all season. Pulis' style of play may be suited to helping a team avoid relegation, which he has done very successfully over the years, but not to a team chasing promotion.(He has managed 9 clubs over 26 years, but only gained promotion twice, the last of these 11 years ago).
5 Boro fans stayed at my house on the last day - the topic of conversation was would they like to go up but have to keep Pullis or stay down and get rid - they would have chosen the latter - they have been worried that they would stay down AND keep Pullis which was their nightmare scenario.
