    Longstaff

Solskjaer looking to add homegrown talent and looking to add Longstaff to his squad. Initial talks has begun. I really hope he stays...

Newcastle say they have had no approach from Man U about Longstaff and they have no wish to sell him.

I don't think any talks have started, Newcastle have come out and said they haven't received any offers for him and he is not for sale. So then again yeah he's probably in talks with them and an offer has been accepted lol. I think he'll stay with us.

If it's true then Longstaff needs to think very carefully on it, because he has a fantastic chance of cementing down a regular first team spot for us which could net him very very good wages and family security for life.
If he goes to Man Utd he could end up as mere slim pickings as far as first team goes, for a good few years which could actually break him as a top player but also wreck his chances of ever making it into the bigger time earning league, as well as the obvious potential of an England career.

In my view, as it stands, Newcastle offer him the best options.

My god can't believe it. I'm agreeing with Ghost on another topic. Newcastle is his chance to build on this initial success whereas at Man U he will be a bench warmer at best.

I think on this, we all agree we Ghost.

Moving to Man Utd on basis of 9 first team starts would be daft.

He stays here and he'll be playing regularly which is what he need.

I understand why Man Utd and others are looking but I can't see it happening unless it's a mad offer, more than Carroll for example.

Funny when you think about it...an Academy graduate and a want-away player who hardly ripped up any trees in the Chimpo...became our best midfield pairing since Cabaye and Tiote.

    Aye - funny old game.

The start of the season, most of us would driven Hayden where he wanted.

Now we'd barricade him till start of season so he can't leave.

Nothing to see here.More chance of me going to the match under Ashley's mismanagement than Longstaff leaving this Summer.
