Actually I do agree with you on this Regis.

I did bid you a good summer and an amicable goodbye the other day on that political post but you didn’t respond.

My post on here wasn’t helpful in all truth.

From this point on if you can refrain from having digs at me I’ll not snipe at your good self.

My elder brother got tickets for the 1967 cup final and I got to go to that one. We couldn't get tickets for the 1968 one despite having been to the semi-final. (That's what I was told anyway. Pretty sure it was true). We were living in Gloucester from 1966 though my brother was still local him being married. The following season my dad and me went to every cup match, keeping the ticket stubs to get final tickets. No idea why we thought they would make the final again! Nearly did, reached the semis.
I finally got to see them at Wembley against Port Vale in the play off final. I also went to that dire match v Derby.

The '54 side was probably the best in my lifetime, I was eight then, followed closely by the Regis, Cunningham, Robson, etc. side of the late seventies. The '68 final side were good but, in my opinion, not as good as the two aforementioned teams. All opinions though.

Got my ticket for Vile Park and Wembley because one the girls in my class at Churchfields uncle was a turnstile operator at the Hawthorns. Told us that 'vouchers' were being given out to anyone attending that night's match (Albion v Halesowen I think) in some sort of local cup.

I was an Albion obsessed 14 year old. One minute after Astle scored I was sick on the Wembley terraces brought on by the sheer excitement of the moment.
