Unhappy Dyche is right, sod the FA Cup!

Hornets slaughtered 6-0 at Wembley in the FA's Cup Final showpiece. Sod that for a game of soldiers!

The FA cup used to be a red letter day in the football calendar, all it is nowadays is a way to give squad members a run out for the big clubs .. Massively undervalued by the FA nowadays.. Waste of money for the fans to pay to watch second rate teams who aren't interested in winning the cup..Us included ..

Hey lads, I used to look forward to this day in the footy season regardless of who was playing... the FA CUP FINAL!.
But its not got that appeal to it anymore has it, and its just a sad joke now for clubs who might have the chance of a wembley Final.

What a great day out that was, even though we lost, I felt the worse was over and so it turned out to be!

Is it my imagination or did the F.A Cup used to be a very important competition. The build up to the game, televised throughout the day.
Now it seems to be a bit of a Mickey Mouse Cup for the "big" teams.
Despite the result, I was pleased to see the Watford fans celebrating their team playing in what used to be a highlight of the English football calendar.
On another issue, I can't be bothered to check, how many English or even British players played in the final ?

Gentlemen the reality is that I think if it was Watford - Derby for example it would have been a good game of football and entertainment from start to finish.

However reality is that Man City have killed football as there simply isn’t a team to compete with them as it stands, the gap is widening yearly and it isn’t going to change anytime soon.

We are at a point now where it’s not really football is it , I mean defending for 80 minutes out of 90 isn’t entertaining to watch it’s demoralising for the other team.
To have 3/4/5 hundred million pounds worth of talent on the bench not playing is a joke.

I feel for Watford as they tried the best they could with a plan but at the end of the day we all knew the outcome.

The FA Cup this season has been contested by 736 clubs since the Extra Preliminary Round on the weekend of 11 August 2018 and this is generally the case. Since the 2000 Final the FA Cup has been won by the following clubs:-
Arsenal 6: Chelsea 6: Man Utd 2: Liverpool 2: Man City 2: Wigan and Portsmouth.
In addition Man Utd have been losers 3 times: Chelsea 2: Aston Villa 2 and the following clubs have been losing finalists Man City: Crystal Palace: Hull: Liverpool: Stoke: Portsmouth: Everton: Watford: Arsenal: Southampton: Millwall: West Ham and Cardiff.
In effect, the last 20 final have featured just 17 different clubs.

Of the 28 players used in yesterday's final, Man City started with 2 Englishmen and brought another on as sub in the 79th minute. Watford started with 2 Englishmen and 1 Northern Irish and brought on 2 Englishmen as subs in the 66th and 73rd minute.

The outcome is a forgone conclusion before it starts. It is not a competition anymore.Neither is the PL.It is all about money-not just in the UK but in almost every country in Europe you can say which team will win the league before a ball has been even kicked. At best it is which of 2 teams will win it.In all cases it is the team(2 teams) with the most financial resources in that league. So much for FFP rules.
It is not entertaining to watch a team with a budget of 10% of the opposing team trying to contain the handful of talent opposing them.
It is also a vicious circle because the team that has the most financial resources will snap up any remaining talent or prospective stars at the smaller clubs so the situation is a self perpetuating one leaving smaller clubs like BFC to survive on the leftovers.

Very true CiB and, unfortunately, it isn't going to get any better and it could get even worse!
