OGC Nice- Dog ez last laugh

The season finished well for Dog last night at the Allianz Riviera Stadium when final day accounts for 2018/19 showed that incoming transfers cost 28 million Euros but transfer receipts from transfer sales totalled a whopping 61.7 million Euros, a profit on the year of 33.7 million Euros. Speculation is rife as to where this close on £30 million has gone but unrest has continued at Dog's refusal to sign quality, experienced players. Attempts to placate restless Nice fans with suggestions that Olivier Giroud was on his way for next season have proved to be hot air, some even suggesting pillaking was involved.
The main event of the season was the resignation of long standing owner Jean Pierre Rivere and his CEO in protest at Dog's financial strategies. Rivere had gradually built the squad, !8th in Season 13/14 to 12th in 14/15 to 4th in 15/16 and overseen the building of the present stadium. Dog rocked up in 2016 and the squad Riviera had built qualified for the Champions League with Dog milking the glory. Since those heady days the club has spiralled into decline and is now stagnating having failed to qualify for any European competition for the last two seasons, scoring just 30 goals in 38 games this season. Riviera, who became 20% part owner when Dog took over, has gone. The long serving CEO has gone, replaced by Goat, a "yes man" from Dog's other club, Barnsley FC.
On the pitch, in the final game of the season, the Cote d' Azur Derby against Monaco, Nice beat 17th placed Monaco 2-0 at home with Monaco squandering many chances and hitting the bar in the opening 20 mins.

I shall not be covering OGC Nice games on a weekly basis next season but will, of course, take a keen interest in Dog's activities there and report developments.

I think it’s a crying shame that our longest standing Nice supporter has lost the enthusiasm for the club and won’t report next season...

    Sad day for the club.
