Longer they stay in the better it is for us.
Best wishes to them both. Here's hoping for
(a) various UEFA fines and stadium closures following the actions of "the best fans in the world"
(b) the aforementioned "best fans in the world" meeting some nice Lazio/Feyernoord fans up a dark alley in Rome/Rotterdam
(c) multiple injuries, preferably not minor ones, ideally involving the rat
(d) some side-splitting embarrassing defeats
(e) a significant lack of favourable refereeing decisions so they see how the rest of us live
Longer they stay in the better it is for us.
Utter *******s.
Longer they stay in the more money they get and the wider the gap in Scotland grows. Anybody who thinks them getting £10 Million just to play an extra six games is better for us is in reality a celtic/sevco fan, certainly not an Aberdeen fan. If they make it through to the last 32 then they get another £2 Million minimum to play just two more games etc etc the further they go
The best thing always is for them both to get knocked out of Europe at the earliest possible opportunity to minimise their income. They have the squads to handle the extra games so extra European games will not impact on domestic results and anyone who thinks an improved coefficient will favour anyone other than the ugly sisters is kidding themselves.
Ok ....... I’ll bite
How is it all good? Even with cups, we now see them getting walked through the draw until the semis. Often that’s the only time they’ll play a Premier League team before the final. They’ll still have the squads to deal with the likes of Partick Thistle or Queen Of The South at home in the Cup.
You really don't get it do you. The European mega millions allows them to have the squad size they do so for instance if they both changed their entire starting 11 from Thursday (which of course they won't need to) then this would be an example of their starting 11 at the weekend
sevco
Foderingham
Flanagan Edmundson Helander Halliday
Kamara Holt
Jones Stewart Dorrans
Defoe
celtic
Forster
Ralston Simunovic Bauer Elhamed
Ntcham Bitton
Hayes Rogic Morgan
Griffiths
What would our team look like if we had to change our first eleven????
As I said they wouldn't need to change all 11, they usually only change 4 or 5 for a routine SPFL match after a European match, which is more than enough to take care of the majority of SPFL teams - tiredeness is not an issue for them as they have the squad size to cope.
The sooner that people realise that the only good thing for us is for the pair of them to not qualify for the group stages for about three years running the better. That is the only way for them to start to come back to teams like us (assuming of course we have the balls to take them on, which appears to be sadly lacking at the moment)
In Europe or not the huns and tims would still outspend us by a mental percentage. Put simply they are bigger clubs, much bigger than us and perhaps just as importantly we have a club owner who won't spend money.
So yes I think our best chance is them staying in Europe for as long as possible. That's our best hope. Slim hope admittedly but it's all we've got.
For sure they would outspend us, but not by anywhere near as much. To put it into perspective, sevco winning last night is the equivalent of them selling an extra 30,000 season tickets. Take that away for 2-3 seasons then that will have a far more significant impact on their squad than playing an extra 6 games over a three month period
Agree 100%
LAST thing any other team in Scotland needs is the filth getting another £7m or whatever from Europe.
They can both play a 2nd team either side of their European games & probably win.
Another season in Europe will make that even more the case next season.
Delusional to think otherwise.
We’ll finish 20 points behind them both (at least)
The duopoly is here to stay.
F**k Scottish football & everything to do with it.
Still, at least the c**ts running the show at Pittodrie will be happy
Scottish Football had a chance to change the duoply and some wee lickspittle pr1ck phucked it.
