I’ve been attending HL matches since 1965 or 66, and I’ve seen the fall and rise of clubs, and their arrival and departure. I’ve seen clubs almost go out of business, and the HL community rally round to support those of their own whilst such temporary difficulties were fixed. I’ve seen heroic Scottish Cup runs, and the unfortunate and prevalent sugar daddydom.

Of the six clubs who have entered the League in my supporting days, all but two have wholly accepted the League’s culture and collaborative standards, and have been welcome opponents.

Formartine United is not one of those two clubs.

Some interesting fixtures there and no formartine scum to sadden my eyes this weekend.

    Up the Locos.

Formartine United are at home to Glenavon in The Challenge Cup on Saturday. I might pop along to watch that in the absence of anything better to do.

With Brora having the free week you may have the chance to celebrate the Locos going into second, the highest they will go this season

Nae fancy Connahs Quay Nomads v Sevcove

Only a six hour drive. I'm heading down in December for CQN v Aberystwyth (with Cumnock v Glenafton the day after). That's my Xmas treat to myself. Which is quite sad

I understand that the CQN v Sevcove Hun match is being shown live on the telly at McGintys (5.00 pm ko). A goodly number of Sevcovians have booked tables. Best avoided.
