    Holte enders in the sky

A little thought for all those villans who sadly passed away this year without seeing us reach the promised land, especially Sir Doug, who always wanted to see us back in the pree- mier league. Kind of ironic we did it the year he passed, maybe it was him who guided both goals in.RIP

Well said Dave. It's been a difficult few years with so many passing.

RIP you lot. I'm sure it's just the physical body that dies and possible still live on in a different dimension or something similar. I'm sure they enjoyed the day too. UTV

I've be listening to a lot of Simon Parkes recently

Always had respect for Doug Ellis, I can remember the state of the club before he took over.
He changed everything from the manager to the match day programme.

Read his book quite a few years ago, a true gent but was said to be resentful of the 1982 success whilst he was not in charge of the club. I never did get the Graham Turner appointment as he set about dismantling a brilliant side but it does all join up. That aside - he did a hell of a lot for AVFC - RIP Doug.
