Never understand this attitude. The whole point in trials is to assess if players are good enough and if not you move on.

Football is increasingly global and there are leagues such as the MLS that don’t start until turn of a new year so players become available at different times.

In the case of Perez, he had an intriguing CV having been at Fiorentina and played in MLS and was previously a standout at youth level for USA alongside Pulisic who Chelsea paid nearly £60m for.

The club wouldn’t be doing their job if they didn’t at least have a look. Prince Buaben was a trialist once upon a time and has a Scottish Cup winners medal.

It was the comment that he wants to give game time to our young players instead, kind of seemed pointless having trialists in if no intention of signing them. If it was with next season in mind then fair enough but that wasn't the way it was portrayed in the media

Plus we have time on our side. We can afford to bring in a few boys on trial and see what they are made of. If they are up to the job - and Neilson is clearly already switched on to what he needs/wants for next season.

It's a huge transfer window for Robbie this summer. Ogren will back him with the cash by the looks of it, so it's down to Neilson to bring in the quality we need.

He knows we need wingers. But signing wingers is the biggest risk of all. They seem to more prone to injury and lapses in form than players in other positions. But that's just my perception.

He also has to prepare for the possible sale of Shanks. Whilst there will be tons of speculation, there is every chance Shanks will still be with us at the start of the season - and maybe as long as Jan 2021. But Robbie will have to have his targets in mind should Shanks up sticks in the summer.

Definitely. Nice to see Robbie is actually prioritising an area that is a priority.

Indeed it is. So glad to see our need for a creative winger being covered.

If that's the kind of players we are targeting then it shows intent, an upgrade on what we have. would be an excellent signing, can't see it but never saw Shankland happening so who knows
