    Where to?

Think it was between him and Cammy Smith to replace Clark from within. I also had this romantic hope we could keep all the players involved this season so we could say thank you to them all, and goodbye to some!

Contrast with the likes of Stuart Armstrong and Johnny Russell who served their time and are reaping the benefits. Further, I could understand kids wanting to get the phuck out of Dodge under the previous disastrous regime, but now with the new owners and RN and imminent promotion, things are so positive right now and he would undoubtedly have got his opportunity to establish himself and get a big move in 3-4 years that would have been much more sustainable. I don’t wish him ill, but I’ll be very, very surprised if we hear much more about him in a couple of years - he’s likely just going to disappear into the ‘system’.

That's the disappointing thing, serve your time, Glass for example can easily get an opportunity to establish himself now even when we go up, get 100 games plus under his belt and be ready to move on if he excels like many of our players who have had good careers down south, Conway, Russell, Armstrong etc

That's not to say Banks won't do well and make it, he obviously did excellent at Clyde and scored a worldy, he is clearly a talent but not sure this is the best way to make the most of it in terms of playing games for a first team.

Disappointed with that, good player and adds to the squad a lot imo, would have contributed well next season too, McMullan and him and him seem close, hopefully he won't be going anywhere soon.

As I had exclusively revealed on a thread back in November 😏. Him and Cammy Smith were free to leave in January.

Hearing we're getting £500K for Banks. If he's worth £500K I want at least £25M for Shankland.

Very strange..... Contract already signed (seemingly) yet they are now willing to pay 300k more to get him now???

Wasn't aware of many other big clubs chappin' on the door.

Don't care really , add-ons, appearances, caps etc can only fill our coffers if the latest "news" is correct.

Shame really , it could have been another successful United story....

And there was a mention of Stanton and Watson getting contract extensions in December.

Another thing to note from this situation is that this is the first time that the new administration has dealt with another Club selling one of our players. If this £500k figure is true then that is a fantastic piece of business and in contrast to the previous short sighted greed of the Snake, augers well for how they’ll deal with future transfers.

Good point, never thought about it that way, but if true , that's great.

Hopefully in future this might be the way we deal with losing players, (if you want them, you know the script)

Without going over old ground yet again (for too long) We were horrendous in dealing with nearly everything in those days. Something seems to have changed (thank funk) but it's been a long time coming.
