Depends entirely on the policy. It’s common sense to cover against severe injuries such as ACLs.

Say Shankland picked up that injury and we were forced to pay him his rumoured £3k (£10k if you’re a Dee) a week. That’d cripple the club.

It's this something you know about for sure?

Yes. Every player at the club is insured. The cost of each policy will vary depending on age, medical history, level of cover etc.

As I say it’s common sense to insure against long term injury if the player is contracted for over a year as if they break down day 1 it’d free up money to sign a replacement.

Wardrop has no history of ACL injury as far as I’m aware so should be a straightforward case.

Where it becomes complicated is with players who have historical injury issues so when likes of Pawlett and Sow are out I doubt club are able to claim. The lad Freeman that’s on trial at moment has had 2 ACL injuries in last couple of years so it’d be very unlikely we’d be able to insure against a reoccurrence. Imagine premium would be extortionate.

Anyway, as post above said. Back on topic.

    Interesting Daly9.
Is there a policy you can take out to cover a player who turns out to be ****e?

Not if they can provide a five minute YouTube video that proves otherwise 😋

I do know that Toshney had to wait for one of his surgeries on the NHS.

Don’t know if that ties in with what you are talking about.

Then you’ve got the likes of Lyng, Gillespie, Slater and Mason who although were only on the wage bill for a short time cost us any chance of promotion.

On the plus side Siegrist, Watson, Stanton (originally signed on loan by McKinnon but made permanent by Laszlo) and Clark have all played a big part this season.

He also gave Appere a 2 year deal when others might’ve released him and signed Banks on his first professional contract who we’re about to get money for.
