I was at Dens for the last Derby and I can assure you that there were more at Dens than at Paisley, but as a Funster you’ve all got form for dodging facts in any argument. Of course, maybe any ‘fear’ is based on Dundee’s excellent historical Derby record. Oh, er, hang on a second......................
6 weeks to go and I am hoping for at least a couple of signings that will turn us from a very good championship team to league champions. In the meantime the fun need to sign nearly a whole team. The fun don’t worry me in the slightest. They can talk themselves up but deep down they have the fear.
Same, was also there, They simply cannot be truthful, more in the shankly that night (2-2.5k) than they had in the Cox at any point this season past, which is why it looked similar to the 2000+ St Mirren had at dens the other weekend
As for fear, what was there to fear, not like dundee were good side ha ha, or good on the night (gifted a scrappy equaliser and awful winner like we did all season), or have a history of beating Utd well (the only time dundee have given Utd a beating in my life were a couple times in 2000 when they faced a god awful Utd (probably.... no in fact definitely as bad or worse than any of our championship sides but we signed Charlie Miller and co to get us out the mess)
The fact is we knew we were down as did every other Utd fan that went that night, that was cemented in all of us a couple weeks before when after beating St Johnstone in Perth 1-0 to give us the slimmest life line, a few days later in midweek away to Partick we lost 1-0, that's when everyone knew
I didn't feel any different after that game to any other derby defeat, was more annoyed we lost it late on as we were "doon" with a draw, remember finding it funny seeing just now much Utd have tormented the fun by the reaction, had to check to see if they had survived at out expense or were going to be presented with a trophy
derbies head to head?
funny wee team 48
Utd 78
mmmmmmmm
