    O/T - Notts C.C.C.

Ah... Summertime... Notts County C.C. getting thrashed every game....

Makes such a refreshing change from seeing Notts County F.C. getting thrashed every game.

Complete joke Warwickshire lose 9 wickets in 7 sessions and we lose all ours in just over one session.

Moores will take the blame as coach but the smell of Newell lurking isn't helping he should have gone 5 years ago.

It does, but let's give a tiny bit of credit for the second innings non capitulation. That will probably happen tomorrow. To bowl 146 overs at a relatively poor team and not get them out shows some serious issues in the bowling department. Most of them are bang average at best, even Broad.

The team has been heading downwards since Newell failed season after season to bolster the batting from within, preferring to sign has been after has been.

Moore’s slightly arrested this decline but whilst ever Newell is at the club undermining Moores the batting will continue to get worse.

We were propped up for years by the batting of hussey and read getting us out of holes.

We no longer have anyone to do this.

The bowling department should be doing a lot better than it is.

Our batting has been abysmal for years. Too many players are simply not good enough. The averages and scores being put on the board are inadequate and are putting pressure on a bowling attack that is bang average.
Mick Newell has to go. He has had his time. Had some success. But we now need a fresh approach, with investment in the playing squad which has to include quality overseas players.

The inability to regularly bowl teams out together with a fragile batting line up is not a good combination.

I think the failure is due to not having a wicket taking spinner for the last decade for the Championship

Sidebottom & Swan have never been replaced it is as simple as that regarding that Peter Moores is fine whilst coaching the Schoolboys but it is almost time to say Au Revoir Peter Moores.

Not only are Notts lined up for relegation, they are going to be spectacular wooden spoonists with a lowest ever points score. Go for it!

As I said last night, there's no sign of the anticipated second innings capitulation yet (165-1). Maybe wait until the afternoon to snatch defeat from the claws of a draw. It does matter because Warwicks are second from bottom and only one team goes down this year, I think.

I wonder if the players were read the riot act after the first innings, if we have anyone capable of doing that.
