    Two Turnbull bids rejected?

The club has today rejected two bids for David Turnbull from Celtic and Barnsley the highest of which was believed to be somewhere short of 2 million. Celtic are believed to be coming back with an improved offer IMO unless it is the 3 million we are asking for we should tell them where to stick their offer.

Just shows the strength of the club when we can turn down a 2M offer for a young player.

It does indeed. Presumably the 2M bid came from Barnsley and not Celtic as the biscuit tin isn't that big. They can both take a hike as our club has made crystal clear the size of bid that is acceptable. What part of at least 3m don't they understand?

3 million and a decent sell on clause too if they want him. Otherwise, as was said earlier, tell them to take a hike

Don't want to see the guy go because he is, at 19, something special and would make Motherwell a competitive team.

Don't care about the money we could get and definately don't want him to go to Celtic, as competitors in the SPFL.

Its the old trick of stripping the League of its best players. Sevco and Celtic do it regularly to reduce the competition from us, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Hearts, Hibs etc. Bung them in the reserves or limit their appearances. Money well spent.

I'm not comfortable with having to treat one of our own as a commodity, but, like it or lump it, the return on David will substantially strengthen our financial situation. I hope that we hold out for 3m - this man is worth every penny of that - I'm actually quite surprised that Steve Clarke hasn't called him up for the Cyprus game.

I'll be desperately sorry if I don't see him in claret and amber again, but his transfer fee would massively help his boyhood club, so I'll manage.

I personally don't think we'll see him in claret and amber again, there is to many teams looking at him and I think someone will stump up the money that we're looking for. As long as it's not Celtic though, wouldn't want him to go there and stew in the reserve side. I think it'll be a club down south he'll end up at anyway.
