Looks like the manager had been promising to pay a portion of some player’s wages himself through “jobs” set up at his company.
Players are bailing out complaining on Twitter that “thousands” are owed.

Hi Mick, hope you’re well? You are better informed than I, as I haven’t heard a thing from the Poppies. My ‘man in the know’ has gone to work in a new job based in the Channel Islands, so I’m not getting to hear about anything. I have plenty of other things to think about at the moment, so football is only in the back of my mind. No doubt I’ll be jumping with excitement over our new Head Coach whenever the announcement is made............! Or maybe not!
