    Matt Doherty & McCarthy

Seems like Matt will have to get used to keeping the bench warm, at least until McCarthy has been replaced. As we all know, once he's made his mind up on a player that seems to be that. The more anyone else disagrees with him, the more he seems go out of his way to be right!

Good job Wardy's retired or that would be both full back spots nailed down!

He’s just had his best season ever, in the Premier League and can’t get in the Ireland team... seems bizarre doesn’t it? I can only think it’s because McCarthy likes defensive minded players and Matts strengths are going forwards.

I could also be that Coleman is captain and plays in the same position as Doherty.

Squad rotation? Southgate does it with some success, Nuno does it to an extent.

I agree, but we are talking about Mick McCarthy here.

McCarthy has been quoted as saying he thinks Coleman is the better player out the two. I think both have played in the same side a couple of times and it hasn't worked out. I'm all for Wolves' players being picked for the Country, but if they don't play then it keeps them fresh for Wolves.
