Sensible post from AW, though no doubt some will disagree.

As a top-flight fan run club we are waiting for relegation. This doesn't change that, it may put it off for a bit and it may mean we're better equipped for when it happens.

If past history serves well, then there's been a few clubs who have struggled significantly in the season following cashing in on selling their best players.
Not saying that selling was the wrong thing to do in this case, let's face reality, but I don't see how the team is stronger on the pitch to stave off relegation. Maybe some players had purple patches at just the right time this past season, but building practically a whole new team in the wage bracket this club can afford increases the risk of relegation for next season -- that's not all on this sale, but is a plausible future following next season.
Let's hope for some miracles next year, but if the compilation video of Hylton sets the standard of football from where players are being signed from then indeed we'll be drawing on what is left after clearing the debts sooner than if the club had structured the contracts of players a bit more balanced than they have.

Given who else is in the league this year we shouldn't be going down even without DT and that cash will then help in the next year or two.
