If he's not picking up they could call a whole string of ex-managers one by one...and they probably will

Vultures circling? Don't take any notice of fourth rate footballers, pundits or half baked journos. Once saw Kenny Burns score a superb own goal at Old Trafford. How the Stretford End cheered.

If the Nottingham Post haven't got any genuinely fresh news, perhaps they should just say nothing for now. I don't see why Adam Collin's opinion deserves any particular prominence. We know a lot of the players liked Kevin Nolan and I'm sure they all had some good nights out, but the performances on the pitch last Autumn and Nolan's signings during the last year of his reign were what set the course for relegation. Kewell and Ardley inherited the problem, they didn't create it.

What makes it worse is that it was recycled from the Eastwood Advertiser or some other small local publication for a couple of weeks back

They didn't create the problem, but neither did they address it. If Nolan set the course for relegation, his successors had ample time to change tack. Kewell wasn't given long enough, Ardley was given the time but failed dismally.

It was like asking a boxer to win a fight with one hand tied behind his back. Not completely blameless, but an incredibly tough ask.

I don't agree that it was an incredibly tough ask at all. All they had to do between them over the course of 40 games was gain more points than any two of the other 23 teams in the division. The atmosphere at the club was undoubtedly worsening, but with the squad, financial support and fan backing they had it should have been a fairly straightforward task.
