    Stoke agree fee for Lyndsey

Defender Liam Lindsay is due to take a medical with the Potters this week
Sportsmail understands that Stoke will pay north of £2million for the 23-year-old
Lindsay had been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead as well as other clubs
Stoke City have agreed a fee with Barnsley for sought-after defender Liam Lindsay.

The 23–year-old is due to take a medical with the Potters this week, despite attracting attention from a number of clubs including Celtic.

Sportsmail understands that Stoke will pay north of £2m for Lindsay, who was instrumental in the Tykes' promotion to the Championship last season.

Lindsay, who started his career with Partick Thistle, had been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead.

West Brom, Derby and Middlesbrough were also keen, along with Italians Brescia.

However Stoke boss Nathan Jones appears to have won the race for his signature as he attempts to take his side back to the Premier League.

No great surprise in all honesty , pretty much as expected .

The lads chasing a few quid , we've made a substantial profit on him and he hasn't really proved he's capable of playing in the championship , there's a question mark .

With Pinnock there isn't , Lindsay can be replaced , losing Pinnock would kill us .

    We move on .

So much sought after, we accept a pittance
Don't think Peterborough for example would have their pants pulled down as easily

Not too fussed to be honest, granted he’s good in the air but I think he’s a bit on the slow side for the championship and has the turning circle of the QE2

No sad loss, struggled in the Championship last time. Pinnock the best defender at the club, so hopefully we use the money to bring in better to play alongside Pinnock (and a left back, Pinnillos not good enough)

I liked him. Thought he was much improved in the new year.
With Jackson gone as well we need a couple of decent centre halves sharpish.
If Pinnock & Davies do go we'll be starting with no understanding at the back.

Well I'm suprised we may? Get that much for him, I would have liked him to stay, he didn't appear to want to sign a new contract though, so the club IMO have done the right thing , no point having a player who doesn't want to commit his future to us , good luck to him , he did well for us , so I've no complaints ,
I just hope we can get similar or better to replace him, preferably with Championship experience

You never really wanted Lindsay eh ?

Selling him to a fellow Championship club though. Thought your owners were loaded and the old days of selling your players was over ?

I still think we should try to get Roberts back from Birmingham.
If we can't buy him, enquire about a loan.
