Just my opinion, of course, but...having recently returned from China after living there for 11 years, teaching oral English (I'm hoping to return in August) I find it bewildering the amount of critisim that China is receiving for reclaiming it's own territory ? Xiānggǎng or 香港 is a part of China, NOT Britain.

    "Great Britain", "United Kingdom"....seriously ?.
One of my former (Chinese) students remarked "United Kingdom ? I thought that "united"" meant "together" but you are 4 countries who are not together. you told me about the British Empire and you used the past tense".

I think / know that is the truth !

Not good publicity for China on the news Map.

Any thoughts on the apparent ethnic cleansing of Muslims in large parts of the country?

I never witnessed any "ethnic cleansing", in fact whilst in China I worked with other teachers of various faiths and nationalities.
