1.5m is a give away as well.
Cardiff City are expected to complete their first piece of summer transfer business within the next 24 hours by signing Will Vaulks from Rotherham United.
The Welsh side are undergoing a huge summer overhaul following their relegation from the Premier League as they look to bounce back at the first opportunity under Neil Warnock.

According to the Daily Mail, the Bluebirds have agreed a £1.5m deal with Rotherham - themselves relegated to the third tier - for 25-year-old Vaulks, who has notched up 17 goals in 137 appearances for the Millers over the last three seasons.

The newspaper says that the Welshman has already agreed personal terms with the capital outfit and is "expected to sign in the next 24 hours".

Cardiff are also thought to be in talks to sign defender Curtis Nelson on a free from Oxford United.

Note they are after Curtis Nelson as well who we were allegedly after so we can say that one is safely down the pan as well.

You would have thought Vaulks transfer fee would be more than Danny Wards

I hope that it's not a less fee with the aim for add on's or a larger sell on fee, as I think this will be his highest fee earned, so we want as much up front as possible.

The positive is that the deal has been done nice and early which allows us more time to do our business. I'm pleased with that.

The negative is the reported fee. If that is right (big if, it's the Daily Mail after all) then somebody at RUFC wants their head looking at.

All the signs suggest that the club still doesnt understand the present transfer market, be it when we sell or when we bid for players. We seem way out of kilter.

Beware of Cardiff, they’ve now got a reputation for not coming up with the money

    £1.5 million seems low.

If true and if there some truth in the speculation about why players are leaving and the reluctance to sign anybody valued over £150k then maybe the club is experiencing severe cash flow problems?

    Pure speculation of course.
