UEFA? Corruption? Surely not!
Former UEFA president and French football legend Michel Platini has been detained on suspicion of corruption.
The 63-year-old is being held as part of an investigation into the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.
He was taken into custody in Nanterre, Paris, on Tuesday morning.
Platini, who was UEFA president between 2007 and 2015, is currently serving a four-year ban from football after he was found guilty of receiving a "disloyal payment" from ex-Fifa president Sepp Blatter.
The ban was originally for eight years but has been reduced twice.
I think everyone thought it wad dodgy at the time.
UEFA? Corruption? Surely not!
Anywhere there's huge amounts of money involved there's always greed and faulty goings-on no matter who they are from top to bottom
Put him in the slammer twin share room with Joey Barton
Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Always knew he was bent as a nine bob note.
Its disgusting what he (allegedly!) got away with and what people before him did as well at Fifa/Uefa.
Between the likes of him, Blatter, and who was another one of them.. Jack Warner (who always seemed to have some sort of grudge against England and the FA). They have set the game back years and I cant trust any of them anymore. Politicians have got nowt on these footy bigwigs.
