Ilkeston boss upset at Hardy move to axe No.2

The Hardy problems don't just end at Meadow Lane . . .

Deakin is a bit of an Ilkeston Town legend too so it didn't go down too well with the fans either

I never understood the two club ownership deal. If it was cost effective in terms of sharing facilities or using the lesser team as a feeder club then practically all FL chairman would be doing it. Time and energy spent on Ilkeston was time and energy lost to Notts (and vice versa).

Given the financial problems that are now publicly known and must have been known to Hardy some time beforehand, it is indeed bizarre that he would diversify and buy another club. It's as mystifying as Ray Trew's commitment to a high level women's team when the men's team was obviously under financial pressure. Is it a deliberate attempt to create the mirage of success and strong resources? If so, it's not a very long-lasting strategy!

If i were in his shoes i'd stay as long as possible, keep taking the paydays and wait till i'm sacked for the payoff.

He'd be daft to walk out as i don't think he'd be inundated with offers given his win ratio in the last 12 months.

This is more non-news which as the poster on twitter replied will no doubt be reported as fact in the post as soon as someone sees it on here or on twitter.

If he was going to walk due to uncertainty, he'd have done it by now. Things have been uncertain for months. Surely he'll wait and see if a takeover materialises and he's still wanted. Imagine walking away now and then the SAs buy the club and offer the manager a decent budget and stability.

That said, his job is getting increasingly difficult as time passes, so there might come a point where he sees next season as an impossible mission, takeover or not.

I know I've changed my tune, but I really hope he stays - whether through his choice or the new owners' (if they exist). We need stability, and he at least knows the scale of the challenge.
