Dear B T: It's a wonderful day here in the M E, 9:30 am, sunny with a few clouds, 25 C, later to reach 27 C .right now 27 C in my home, so I switch on the A/C .Yes, and to 'Footymad'.
So then what you write ''I kind of like people who realise fairness, solidarity, socialism, equality, compassion, tolerance and respect are the watchwords of a civilised society.
I did not add ''and act on them.'' For there lies the problem.
.....and those words ''fairness, solidarity, socialism, equality, compassion, tolerance and respect.'' They belong to the Book, Grimm's 'Fairy Tales',words that are caught by the winds and lofted into the 'make believe world', that never exists!
Equality or fairness can never be ,when no two atoms are the same, how can it be?
fairness:
The British made a mess of things ,for example in many places of the world ,but lets take the M E problem. The only binding resolution of international law, a resolution which has never been countermanded to this very day, is the July 1922 Mandate for Palestine. Adopted by the League of Nations, that resolution recognized the “historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country.” It called for the creation of a Jewish national homeland anywhere west of the Jordan River.
That Labour great comedian J C, has called certain groups 'friends'. So how would Labour add its fairness to the problem? Remember ,''It called for the creation of a Jewish national homeland anywhere west of the Jordan River.(1922 Mandate for Palestine. Adopted by the League of Nations, the only binding resolution of international law?
solidarity:
Unity or agreement of feeling or action. Take the Arab world Sunni and Shia ? Can there be solidarity there? ( I heard a Sunni Moslem say ''they are not true Moslem's!!'') So can there be solidarity there ? Take note the whole world is full of conflicts ,and you speak of solidarity?
socialism:
A political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. ( that means centeralization?) - the concentration of control of an activity or organization under a single authority? It did not work anywhere? So with Labour Government it will work?
equality:
Remember those two atoms? That word, didn't it leave on the first Sputnik, into space?
compassion:
With such a cry these days 'Free Palestine,' etc etc. Yet, when Palestinians are bombed in Yarmuk refugee camp by the Syrians (or the Russians?) whatever, not much of compassion there,or with the worlds media ? Or the Rohingyas in Burma? Australia resettled refugees in offshore islands in the Pacific, 200 children being sent from Australia to Nauru . I am sure many more cases all over the world.
tolerance and respect:
You have the idea now that all these words left this earth long ago.
