Is the behind closed doors fixture going to be a 5-a-side game?
Rotherham United have now finalised their plans for their overseas training camp in Germany and can confirm that one of their two planned fixtures will be played behind-closed-doors.
The Millers had initially made plans to face two German sides in front of the public, but following a change in circumstances at the club of one of their potential opponents, will now only be able to welcome supporters to the fixture against 1. FC Magdeburg.
As previously confirmed, the game against 1. FC Magdeburg will take place at Elm-Stadion, Elmstraße, 38364 Schöningen on Sunday 14th July, kick off 2pm (German time) with admission prices to be confirmed.
Paul Warne’s side will play another fixture earlier in the week on Wednesday 10th July, but this game will now be played behind closed doors.
Both games are now waiting to be sanctioned by the English Football Association and we do not anticipate any further changes.
Is the behind closed doors fixture going to be a 5-a-side game?
Yes, with Walking Football rules:no running, 3 touches maximum, no physical contact, nothing above head height. Pity we haven't still got Newell.
Don't think Warne wants us to see he's still going with the tried and trusted 5-4-1 formation.....
Old and rusted 4-5-1
Magdeburg won 9 of their last 40 matches, scoring a goal a game. Should be a riveting watch.
I was thinking of going as Magdeburg is meant to be nice but they're redeveloping the town centre ATM so not the right time to visit.
