I expect more signings especially given the freed up wage from KM leaving but we really really need a keeper.

If we sign another 4 of the same calibre plus a keeper then we could be on with a decent shout
I agree shunts,my post was on the basis of another 4 in 5 now miller has gone.We are far to light at the moment but I'm no sure we will see another keeper.

I don't know about a good start, we have to be realistic,
We don't have a full team,we have two injury prone centre halves, one goal scorer And a keeper that's a bomb- scare.
We have made some good signings, but we have not seen them play yet !
After that debacle last season, with one league home win, I'll be happy if we could get into the play-offs

Kind of the way I was looking at where we are at the moment. Think we need to be patient and look for improvements as the season progresses. Agree that recruitment can change the situation in a very positive way but that's still to be delivered and isn't a given. Think the youngsters might be used much more than in previous seasons and with a bit of patience they might produce the results later on in the season.

I disagree, need a strong start, this league tends to be won from the front certainly from Xmas onwards.

It's difficult but we have signed good players, we have a good structure and probably at least 3 more to come in, I'm expecting to defo challenge and be in top 3 at the finish.

Great stuff. Will be delighted if we start well and keep it going.

Every team is looking for new players, not just us so still too early to be worried about squad depth. Where we're lagging is McPake's inexperience and lack of contacts, perhaps. I'm sure there's plenty work going on behind the scenes. Can't see another goalie coming in though.

Not seen enuf of Hamilton to comment whether he's good enuf or not but one thing I can't get my head round is folk saying "he's good enough for the championship".

I don't get that. With goalies you can either be trusted to be competent or you can't, nothing to do with division we are in.

Mibbe players dinnae shoot so much or kick it quite so hard in the championship but I doubt it.

If I was Mcpake I'd be thinking can Hamilton come thru a ruck of players to take a last min corner in a derby or other big game, will his team have faith in him, can he bounce back from a blooper, can he get better, does he have the bottle.

If the answers yes he's in if no to a couple he's got to get better.

Worst keeper I can remember since Kelvin Jack, would have preferred Parish but Ferrie signed up as well so he's went elsewhere. The only hope is he'll not be exposed as much because he won't be any better in the 2nd-tier, really fear for our chances in the bigger games. I'm sure McPake would like to drop him but 80k transfer fee says that ain't happening
