    Turnbull transfer off

    First thoughts....

    1) the pessimist in me suspects this will end up costing us money
    2) the loss is probably worth it, had we folded to Celtic there would have been absolute hell to pay
    3) the optimist in me wonders if, somehow, this isn't the best thing that could happen to us and Turnbull, depending on the details of the injury

Best wishes to David for a successful operation and smooth recovery. Looking forward to seeing him back in claret and amber. Still plenty of time to build a huge career.

And so the latest twist in this saga unfolds.

I reckon he'll still end up at Parkhead before the summer is out.

Never say never but if this from Clyde's Alison Conroy is true: "Celtic wanted to take Turnbull for the season and give him his surgery and rehab. They would then have paid Motherwell the full fee if it was a success. Basically taking him on loan with an option to buy," then I severely doubt it. Because that suggestion is so comically poor it's as if they made it hoping/assuming we'd turn it down.

AC also says: "David Turnbull could be out for up to 6 months but could be back in 3. Depends on the operation and rehab. A scan found an underlying knee issue which the midfielder knew nothing about, he'd never felt any symptoms."

If he's out three months, comes back strongly and helps us before a move in January, it's not too bad. Six months would be a massive blow though...if it looks like that's the case we should be offering him another year on his contract immediately.

Celtic have shown their hand in this.....offer a hugh sum ....find a chink in the deal enought to frighten off other potential buyers with the talk of a potiential injury scare. Go public and call off the original deal......the medical shows up a minor injury which may cause concern in David's long term future. Run down his contract enough to enable them to offer less. Celtic were not expecting him to make a sudden impact on their first team. So highlight the injury shown up in medical force him to go under the knife and effectively take him off "The For Sale shelve".
Our response should be offer him an immediate improved extension... the op will be a success well worth the risk allow him time to recover....
Get him back fit and back in Claret & Amber and show the f@$kers what they missed.
Appologies for any grammer and spelling mistakes tryling to type thiis in the Andulusian sunshine.

Take him on loan for a season to basically see if it works out, if it doesn't then hand him back. Iv'e never heard such s**** in my life. Just goes to show what kind of scum we are dealing with. They've left a young player at the start of a promising career out to dry. not to mention our club as well. hopefully we can get him back fit and flying the way he was last season. If they come calling again a swft f*** off should be in order.

Celtic have, throughout this entire episode, once again shown themselves up for the arrogant, self entitled, petulant, bullying scumbags that they are. Well done to Alan Burrows and the board for not bowing down to them.
